WTA Europe was created in 2007 within WTA's 10th Anniversary celebration. Spain became the first official country, and Maria Ortega was appointed General Director.
Her contribution to WTA and to all of the Biennials is extremely important for WTA and for the new territory. Right now, the main goal continues to be the assistance to emerging artists to be present in some of Europe's most notable museums and art galleries.
