WTA Biennials are international expositions of contemporary textile art along with an agenda of education and culture led by the most important icons of the Textile Art World. IT takes place every two years in different parts of the world. The event is organized through a very complex selection process which selects the most important and best art pieces to participate in the event. World class curators and guest judges are part of a unique art and culture event that has already visited North, Central and South America since its creation. Every Biennial attracts some of the most important people of the textile world who are gather together in seminars, special events, fairs and workshops. REGISTRATIONArtworks shall be selected by a group of three renown international judges as it has always been since the 1st Biennial. They will judge creativity, technique as well as make sure each art work meets the technical specifications.

Three awards and several honorary mentions shall be awarded according to the Jury’s decision. The winners and special mentions—as well as all participants—are encouraged to visit Uruguay during the Biennial.
The wait is now over, and URUGUAY will host what is expected to be the largest Biennial yet. Four massive locations will be hosting the main exhibitions, while several other locations country-wide will host cultural, entertainment and educational events.
